Welcome. Edgartown News was born from the simple fact that I have ink and Dektol in my veins and I need to write and photograph more than I need air or food, and from my love for this little town where I grew up and raised my family, the town I have left a few times but can't quite shake for good. Here you will find the wanderings and musings, photographs and commentary; the people, places, and happenings - past and present - of a small island town: my home town.

Missing My Column

Edgartown Great Plains

June 18, 2009
I walked downtown the other evening after supper, as I frequently do, and met a friend, Dave Corcoran, along the way. We stopped and chatted - Dave telling stories while I listened and snapped photos. Later I posted one of the photos on Digital Grin, one of the photography forums I frequent, along with a short blurb about our encounter. Doing this reminded me of how much I loved writing my weekly column in the Martha's Vineyard Times - and how much I miss it. This started me thinking, maybe I'll start my own Edgartown news column. And, lo and behold, as is often the case shortly after I allow a thought to surface to the level of putting it into words - here it is.
